Overview Camera is equipped with target illumination attached at the front of the lens, highlighting all targets in the field of view and making them more prominent in the image.
For better distinction from other bright areas of the image (e.g. reflections from polished metal surfaces), target illumination emits a ray of intermitting infrared light. Infrared light cannot be directly viewed by the human eye but creates a highly visible spot on the CCD camera.
The focus and the aperture of the Overview Camera are fixed and cannot be changed. The settings ensure very good image quality over the entire working range of the Leica Laser Tracker.
